A dirt race at Bristol, 3 more road courses (including COTA and the Indy road course), Nashville, and they actually removed two 1.5 tracks.
I’d say that this is a step in a positive direction.

Good, they needed to do this for a long time rather than the playoffs or the stupid stages.
This is what makes the sport interesting, a dirt track will be cool as hell . I wonder why they didn’t just use Eldora?
I do wish though they would knock one of the Poconos for another Road course like M id-O hio (which the Busch race already does). Not a fan of that track at all

Been a NASCAR fan since 1990 but have lost interest
the last few years. The road courses are the only ones that have any appeal to me. I agree, a step in the right direction.

That’s a lot of dirt

I'm really shocked that I'm actually looking forward to Nascar next year.

I couldn’t agree more
, maybe even
leave the second dates for non-legacy tracks (Darlington, Daytona, etc.) and as you mentioned other tracks like Pocono and Kansas could stay on with one date. Add more rovals,
road courses, and dirt tracks into the mix with those dates.
I totally forgot to mention above
that they added Road America for next year. Love that track and so glad to see it on the schedule as well.

Same here, I remember watching with a lot of interest in the 80's and early 90's as a kid.
Even begged
my dad into getting me
a
subscription to Winston Cup scene back in the day. I moved on after that and only occasionally watch now, but more of this could sway me to watch a lot more. Kinda upset they didn’t bring back the Daytona Road Course.

A lot more than your typical stadium moto
cross event. Do they still host college
football games in the infield?

They hosted one; I don’t think it is an annual event.

I agree, take the August race and make it into the road course
but I bet that will be the unwatchable
600 mile race. IMS race on the old F1 track will be interesting though.

Nascar is becoming ... interesting? Do they do the stupid stage things on road courses ?

I’m getting mixed feelings here, While I like more road courses and short tracks and I adore the dirt event, Kentucky was the shortest trip for me to see a cup race. And to see that go and Atlanta double up again kinda makes it a rough go.
Especially after the highlight finish to this year’s race that no one got to see.

Word on r/NASCAR was that Eldora facilities are a far cry from Cup-worthy.

Yes and they’ve pretty much ruined road course strategy.
And since NASCAR only does full-course cautions, cautions at road courses can be brutal.

I haven’t been in awhile but I could see that. No way it could even hold a candle to Bristol in that sense.

Perhaps with more road course races they will get used to turning right and adjust their rules.
