I’m still not entirely convinced the narrow kidney grilles work, but it’s a HELL of a lot better than the new M3/M4's buck teeth.

I would MUCH rather have that than the current abomination...

I also don’t like this, but it doesn’t make my physically ill like actual new BMWs do.

That looks like a rodent with narrow teeth

That’s what I’m talking about. I’d like to see the front end “motorsported out” a little bit otherwise ... right on

These are better then what we got too.

Nice profile, but I also don’t like the front of this, fwiw.

...and sunglasses?

This generally works for me but the front fascia needs tweaking. I don’t like the large flat uninterrupted body color surface surrounding the kidney grille.
Get rid of the bar that connects the top of the headlights, move the kidneys up so their top edge is more aligned with the top of the headlights, make the headlights a little taller by extending their lower edge downward , and change the shape of the lower air opening to be more of a “dog bone” shape like Mercedes.

I fell like there is a lot of Alfa vibes in that front end.

Can I has this instead?

While is sort of like the concept (it would be better with two separate headlights and maybe a bit more opening on the bottom/side), it also makes me think of someone :
But the actual rodent face is also not looking like a good guy :

No. Because this is still the ugliest BMW nose ever made, and copying it is a terrible idea.

Yuck.

Dog bone? I always call them chipmunk cheeks.

Yeah, that’s kind of the same problem the Challenger has. Faithfully reproducing a design from the era of separate chromed bumpers with modern materials and construction techniques results in a large, unbroken body colored mass

The Challenger doesn’t have the same problem for me as the headlights and grille are one continuous space and then there’s the lower air opening. It’s inoffensive.
It’s helped by the fact that there’s an upper ledge to the “bumper” instead of being totally flat like the front of this new E9 concept.
Actually
the front of
Challengers that have plain mesh grilles like this without those 2 rectangles that call back to the old ones...
Look a whole helluva lot like an E9,
E21, E24, E28 etc
without the kidneys, amber side markers,
or
forward slant
. Although unlike those later cars the E9's kidneys are in a separate body-color portion and not floating on top of a continuous black grille.
If BMW wanted to do a retro-modern interpretation of an E9 or any of those other late 70s/early 80s front ends, it could very well end up looking kinda like a Challenger with kidneys and amber sidemarkers.

The Challenger is definately not as egregious, but when you have to kneel down and scrape all the accumulated dead bugs off, you get a new appreciation for how much painted area there is facing into the wind

I always thought it started with the below , but apparently the above is why the M3/M4 look as they do now
