Art of Rally
some screenshottery...
My poor GTX960M can only manage ~40FPS on high graphics settings at 1920x1080. It’s all about the geometry, 4GB of memory is more than enough for the “textures” in this game, It just can’t crunch the triangles hard enough. I also think it’s pretty poorly optimized, as I can get nearly the same framerate on high settings at 1920x1080 on Dirt 4.
I have much to learn, and many cars to unlock.
**************update:
In My opinion this game perfectly nails the difficulty and physics between “casual, accessible” and “very satisfying when you perfectly nail a set of corners” I think gamers on both ends can enjoy it, as long as they at least using a modern game controller with at least one analog stick and triggers. Nicely done Funselektor, this really looks like a driving game with wide appeal.
nailing it feels really good, but it’s still workable if you fuck up. a good balance.
I’ve only completed the first season, but I have completed all the free explore scavenger hunts. I’ve driven some Killer Bs and the insane Group-S machines, as well as a bunch of the classics. I love the not-an-RX-3 on asphalt, and the not-a-911 is killer in it’s class.

I’ve not done any sort of rac
ing games in a long time since my wheel broke. One of these days (maybe when it gets cold out again) I’ll get at least a controller to mess around with.

I wonder how my ancient GeForce GT 640 would do in comparison
...
https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/geforce-gt-640.c813
Apparently the GTX 960 is 452% better... but I’m not sure how close the 960M is to that.
So in summary... with my old card, it would be a low speed slide show at the same settings.
LOL

Hows the engine sounds? Realistic or recording of a plastic bag stuck in a vacuum cleaner like Gran Turismo 4 ?

I refuse to feed those behind GPU production and pricing. Any idea how modern Intel desktop chip integrated capability would stack up in this comparison?

Pretty fake, not gonna mistake it for real engine noises, but it’s not super annoying. Less vacuum cleaner, more sawtooth 16bit waveform.

How much content is there? Is it the kind of thing you’ll be bored of after a week? I think it looks awesome so long as it has more than a couple hours of play time

Intel UHD Graphics 630. There might be a single chip with some Iris or whatever it was called that was still integrated graphic’y.

The UHD630 is not bad, still below the GTX960M by a bunch, but with reduced resolution, or reduced quality you can probably get usable framerates. That GT640 looks like it’s gonna be a stretch though.

depends on how much time you have... based on my completion of the first season and all the scavenger free runs there’s probably 18-20 hours of mission con tent, then there’s custom rally and time trial modes with internet leaderboards if you need to keep racing. There’s pretty good route variety and lots of opportunity to get better and faster with the diff iculty and car damage cranked up.

Thanks, neatly put it into perspective.
It pains me how much even (highly HIGHLY SUSPECT) used 970 desktop cards are still being sold for because reasons. 1080 ti are even nuttier.

I was just watching some gameplay footage of it, I probably will get it sometime during the week
