I was waiting for a turn and this one whoooshed by me, I can’t believe I got the pic in the rear view mirror. Air is perfect right now at zero. We have done some hiking and beaching for two days, I am beat. I hope the smoke doesn’t return but I’m sure it can’t be over. I saw what I believe was an F-5 two seater go by in the distance, not much is that thin with that profile, then soon after I saw a 60 series chopper of some variation with a refueling boom so I knew it wasn’t a coastie, but it had a strange paint job that was not US military unless it was for something special. Maybe hosting some other allies in the area for training. I haven’t seen a lowered Jeep in a while either....
The jet was pretty far off but in person I thought it was an F-5. definitely not the usual F-18s that come around from LeMoore. I wasn’t Air Force, not sure if they still use them? There is a base in range but I mostly see C5s, C-17s and the occasional B-52.

I see tons of G wagens. Lots of AMGs. And never once a two door.

Does look like an F-5/T-38. You can tell them apart easily if you get close enough because the F-5 has missile rails on the wing tips but the T-38 does not. Can’t tell from your photo if they are there or not though. Also obviously if it’s a single-seater, then it can’t be the trainer, but there are two-seater F-5s.

My dad was a pilot and I was around them a lot as a kid, plus Oahu is crawling with bases. The cockpit was long, I think it had to be a two seater. When it was flat I didn’t see anything under the wings, it was totally flat. When it banked I could see the wings were those F- 5 type and the rudder was for sure no F- 18 twin tail. I’m used to the 18s taking joy rides out over the coast and by the golden gate. The Coastie choppers are usually Dolphins, I’m not sure the 60's really operate here, this one was strangely painted.
