Most of them were real lookers too but yeah that's a weird flex.

It has tyres, just like every Lamborghini. The lights at the front project light just like on the fanciest of Bentleys. The seats exist - something you’ll find is also true of all the nicest cars ever built.

The Audi is similar in many insignificant ways to some of the finest cars ever built - but it’s worse.

MG was selling cars in the U.S. with rack and pinion steering 2o years ear lier.

FWD just like an Eldorado! Or, you know, like a Honda N 600 but whatever. Audi did, however, seem to beat Ford in claiming their car was indistinguishable from a Mercedes so that’s a win.

My truck has the same amount of tires as a Ferrari!

I guess the first draft didn’t get past review when they said it has the same ( rack and pinion) steering system as the Ford Pinto.

I love the 70's Audi badge with the horizontals.

A real shame, too. On paper it looks very interesting, and the styling was very good. Too bad it was built like trash.

Yeah, these old Audis may not have been very good but they sure were pretty. If I could find one that somehow isn’t consumed by rust, I’d love to build a restomodded one.

It’s beautiful for sure, even if it was terrible. It’d make an excellent candidate for a restomod nowadays, Audi has a ton of modern drivetrains that would be sweet in one of these things. Hardest part would be deciding whether to go with an I5, v8, or v10... Well, that and finding one of these cars that hasn’t been consumed by rust yet.

Sort of reminds me of this:

Never figured out if these sorts of commercials were intended to sell more cars, or just make the people who already bought them feel better about their decision

They’re light, I imagine an I5 would be just fine!

Knew a gal that drove a 70s Audi in college, it wasn't very old (yes I am old).  The motor dropped out of it, literally dropped.  It was a train wreck before that, decent enough plan, but really crappy execution.  Same as it ever was.

Funny when FWD was sold as a luxury upgrade
