If a cuter car than this exists, I want to know about it. But seriously, isn’t this a car YOU COULD JUST DUNK IN YOUR COFFEE? It looks like it drove straight out of a cartoon! In fact, I think it did drive out of a cartoon...
They even made a pickup truck version, a whole 475 of them...
If that’s not the cutest truck you’ve ever seen, I don’t know what is. And the race car versions:
If you somehow hate these things, then I’m sorry you weren’t hugged enough as a child or don’t have a soul, because that’s just terrible.

Hi

Okay, it’s pretty hard to argue with the Sprite. But for sheer cartoonishness, I think I’m still going with the A30.

Very cute and cartoonish. Possibly one of the cutest American cars to exist (yeah, I know the engine is British but still). It’s very close to dethroning the A30, but since one could argue it’s a tiny bit garish, I’m still going with the A30.

The original Twingo is cuter

The facial expression, yes . There are few cars that come close to having as cute a facial expression as the Twingo. The rest of the car, however, doesn’t really scream “cute” as much, so I’m still going with the A30.

Here are some other adorable cars, although they still might not be quite cute enough...
Goggomobil
Goggomobil Dart
Suzuki Twin
Suzuki Twin with an aftermarket front bumper
Tourette Supreme
Brutsch Mopetta
Peel P50

I wonder if Mopetta guy is still alive.

A handful of these might have been sold stateside, too. I know we got the Devon and I think the Dorset and maybe even Somerset for several years in the early 50s, similar styling:
They remind me of a 2:3-3:4 scale 40s Chevy.

Goggomobil is an extremely close second to the A30. The other Microcars are also adorable, but in a much more alien way. The Suzuki with aftermarket bumper is just unsettling.

Based on the same platform as the A30's bigger brother, the A40.

Hmm, more British DNA than I thought. Still very American styling, though.

The British really seemed to have a knack for bringing a certain level of elegance to small cars in the 1930s/40s/50s - they gradually lost it, but for a while there, even their smallest cars seemed to have a slight hint of the presence and class of their luxury models. Also still the era when cars really reflected the culture and attitudes of their country - an Austin was as unmistakably British as a Citroen was French and a Cadillac was American, things got more homogenized over time.

Styled by Pininfarina, but for American tastes. Nash really went all over the place to build that one

I suspect you are correct but the Yamaha Ami says “I’m cuter and will absolutely fight you for the title of cutest!”

So THAT’S what that thing is called! I remember reading about it a long time ago, but couldn’t remember the name. Thanks.

I did not know about all those other body styles.... I’ll have that pickup version, please and thank you.

Now that is an honest hard working car. I can vouch for their cuteness having seen one in the flesh.

Yes, c ool and happy little cuties. I had a neighbor that parked 3 of them in his 1 car garage. He restored all of them, sold 2 of them to pay for the one he kept.

They are really awesome, though SUPER, SUPER rare... :(

I suggest a Nash Metropolitan. You may have seen one in Weird Al's 35 oscar winning epic, UHF. I think it's pretty darn cute.

Is it really a 1 car garage if it can fit that much joy inside?

It’s more like a big toy box at that point.

That picture. . . hmmmmm. . . you'd come out to the car completely surrounded by carts that people haven't just put in the other side.

Like at ever y Home Depot?

Every other? I don't know what area you live in that it isn't EVERY Home Depot.

Home Depot has to be the worst in the business for cart retrieval. Also, Home Depot customers suck at putting their carts back in the corral or store entrance.
