Yeah, not saying there’s some validity to the concerns.

My brother and his family live(d) in Shanghai (trying to get back now after months in the States), and that definitely their primary communication app. My sister-in-law’s company (different brother) has production facilities there, so this will affect her quite a bit, I’m sure.

Ooooooo. The war against China tech continues! I gotta say though seeing ultra compressed TikTok crap on my limited time on Instagram was enough, lazy share posting . Even ignoring the spyware allegation there’s still questionable moderation with the U18 dancing and that guys suicide that went viral f0r days last month.

WeChat is also a pretty big deal. As someone mentioned below, it’s massively used in developed China.
