Last week the TCS light was on. My brother-in-law come over to scan it. we go out to the van (2012 Quest) and the lights are off. This past weekend, the TCS light is back on along with the red BRAKE light. I ask him to come scan the car, turn the car on and no lights. WTF? I’ve checked the obvious - buttons being pushed, parking brake not engaged, brake fluid ok. The lights havn’ t been back since.

Had the ABS light this morning but it disappeared when i started to go eat at noon.

Already happened less than a month ago with a interlittent ABS control module communication.

Might be a wheel speed sensor? One in my car is being finicky and it’s throwing the TCS light, ABS light, and TPMS light since my car uses the wheel speed sensors to determine if there’s a flat. It i s intermittent, but the first time it had an issue, the  TCS and stability control activated on dry pavement, so that was exciting. I think I’ve heard of some cars throwing the parking brake light as well.

I had a similar issue and it ended up being the cheap as fuck brake light from rock auto. Replaced it with an own unit and all dash lights disappeared.

that is my leading theory. The speed sensor ring on my wife’s old Escape cracked and made similar things happen. I tried looking for the rings on the Quest and they are either BURIED or works in a different manner. The speed sensors are like $150 so I dont want to arm the parts cannon quite so soon.

I feel ya. The OEM parts for my car are $220 so I’m hoping my issue stays intermittent for the remainder of my time with the car. Hopefully your car acts the same way or just magically fixes itself haha !

that would be preferable. The turn signals act up sometimes so maybe its just that Nissan took notes from the British elec tric al guys. So metimes when i signal to turn left, it blinks fast as if a bulbs out, but no bulbs are out.

I had a wheel speed sensor that would stop working whenever it rained, then start working again once it dried out. Made for some eventful Vancouver commutes until I replaced it. (The guy in the z4 in front of me probably required new underwear when I locked the brakes on the highway, the e38 rotated 90 degrees and I slid sideways towards him before righting it and falling back in line. That was almost a  very bad morning.)

I would replace the whole tail light, see if it helps. It could always be careful u plugged and returned I'd it doesn't clear it up

You have to use a scanner that can read the ABS system
