But !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . This popped up in my recommended YouTube vids, and it brought me back to 1988, when I fantasized about owning one of these babies. I didn’t even realize it at the time, but with the cabin storage space for a wheel chair and decent trunk room, this is actually a practical daily for me, even today. Feast your eyes on that infotainment system!

Wait - you can fit a chair in it? Behind the front seat?
I was a GM employee when the convertible came out. Really wanted one, but I was 22, and, ummm monies. So I bought a Sunbird. More fun, almost certainly less reliable. Oh well.

Yeah, I was a student. Monies were an issue.
Check the vid. The space behind the seats was left for storage, no fake kiddie seats. Awesome!

I was just thinking something like that. Although the truth is that 165 hp really isn’t as anemic as people tell you today.

Holy crap - that is huge behind the seats! I did not realize that!

It was a lightbulb moment for me.

I don’t see where Doug looks behind the seats? But I can see here, I like my Z, it has the hatch area and two compartments under the carpet.

There’s a beautiful dark red Reatta for sale on Craigslist in Lima, Ohio for $4,000. About 90k miles and clean as a bean. All the interior electronics appear to work as well. Real pretty late 80’s car.

I wonder if an LS4 swap is feasible.

Oh, I definitely should not look that up.

Look at around 16:40 in the vid where he demonstrates those storage bins.

Oh I see, I have always thought a customized Reatta could be pretty cool. I admit I thought it was called a Regatta for a long time, I didn’t see many in Hawaii. Zs have two big “smugglers” compartments there, some racers relocate the battery there since it’s the middle of the car ahead of the rear axle. I keep the jack etc.. in there instead of the spare area.

That’s a lot of space. I remember my mom’s FC RX-7 was great for that because of being in a hatch configuration. I love hatches on sports cars. Too bad the RX-7 squeezed those nominal back seats in and reduced the storage space. We actually did use them as seats a couple of times though. It would be great if they could make them removable and still meet safety regs.

I would have posted the Craigslist link, but I’m on my phone, I’m old and can’t copy the fucking link. It looks real pretty. I’d love to daily it, but I’d kill it in about a year or two doing my usual daily driving.

Here’s the listing. Buy it so I don’t have to.

Damn you, that is pretty sweet. The cassette player doesn’t work. I wonder what it would take to wire the thing for bluetooth to the sound system through the tape inputs ? I really would drive that to work every day.
