Football! Woohoo! Can’t wait to watch the Texans beat the Chiefs (I hope) tonight.
My team (Broncos) will need all the help they can get now with Von Miller out for the year. At least our best receiver was also injured today, too. Good thing I have beer.

I’m a Washington fan, so my team has become marginally less embarrassing ! Still terrible at football, corporate culture, and probably a bunch of other things, but hey at least they realized that name was a bit of a mistake.
I probably should change allegiances, but I can’t help but feel that the rest of the NFL is horrible in a lot of the same ways Washington is (though generally better at football).

I really am annoyed with their new name. How on earth do you not go for Washington Football CLUB instead of Team ? I don’t care if that sounds a bit more soccer-y, it sounds way better.

I pretty sure being bad is feature for this name. If they have any competence (fair to question here), they want to make sure there’s no chance people want to keep the temporary name vs. whatever carefully selected they choose. There also could be trademark issues (there is a Washington Football Club in the UK as well : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Washington_F.C. , frankly go down to two stripes on their logo and make it red, and it would be a good fit for DC)

I have to admit that while I am pulling for the Bills, I sort of want to see Can Newton succeed with the Patriots. The Panthers just dumped him and that kinda rubbed me the wrong way.

I’m really shocked that no one was willing to take a risk on a former MVP quarterback. Seems like someone should have given him more than what he got from the Patriots.

I can respect that position but I just really want to see them lose for once. I honestly expected Bill Belichick to leave/retire whenever Brady did

Eh, most NFL starters will only play a handful of drives in the preseason at most. The more valuable ones will never take a single preseason snap.
By the third and fourth preseason games, the players taking the majority of the snaps most likely won’t be on the roster anyway.
