She’s in good health, but she’s had a growth on her right front leg for a few years. It never bothered her, but recently it grew larger and it’s now causing her some pain. The vet x-rayed it and it’s not in the joint or the bone so it sounds like it can be removed. I think everything will be ok, but I’m still nervous dropping her off like this. Fingers crossed.

Ellie says don’t worry. Shoes and coffee on her when it’s all said and done.

I really like our vet but am the same way when I have to drop them off particularly for surgery. Hopefully shes not too doped up when you pick her up!

I sprung for an anesthetic that is supposed to make her less nauseous when she wakes up, so hopefully it won’t be too bad for her.

I think it will. I’m just hopeful she can get back to running around and not hurting. This has really slowed her down over the last month.

Oh cool, I didn’t know that was a thing. Our boxer was fine but I don’t think our vet works on a lot of big dogs as our 160 lb mastiff was high as a kite after surgery. I had to lift her into the car and she was just drunk as a skunk for a few hours. Almost fell of the couch mid yawn.

I hope Sophie is home safe and well.

She’s home and doing ok, but... the doctor won’t remove the mass. He wants to run more tests. He’s afraid it might be cancer.

Fingers (everything) crossed hoping it isn't cancerous.
