Looking up the weather for the town of “Malibu” that I live in is usually a fruitless effort. But plugging in a lat/long by clicking on the map on weather.gov gets it a bit more accurate. Im gonna be out of town Friday and Saturday up at some elevation thankfully but come Sunday, time to bake all day and night! As long as blackouts don’t roll through my area, the swamp cooler will keep me comfortable enough to sleep. The beach is going to be insane though with the holiday. Wish me luck, good thing I’m not old and feeble and can drink plenty of water and stay out of the sun.

Here’s some pics from last weekends hike. Won’t be doing any of that this weekend. Was pretty damn hot in sub 90 weather. Sure would be deadly in this weather!

The MASH set? Wouldn’t have recognized it yesterday but went down a bit of a rabbit hole last night.

The old M*A*S*H set - I’ve been there! It was a hot summer day and didn’t have enough water with us. It was a great ride, though - started out from my place in Westchester and rode up the coast. We traded bikes for the first part of the ride and I nearly dropped my friend’s Gold Wing at a light - I forgot I was on a motorcycle! I was more accustomed to sportbikes, so the idea of a windshield, drink in a cup holder, radio and heater on, etc. just did not feel like I was on a bike...

That would be my guess too.

I’m in the Military Vehicle Preservation Association, one of our guys is going to paint a non running Dodge ambulance for that spot. I thought they were going to take the one that was there and work on it. Maybe they haven’t done it yet.

Well both vehicles there got pretty damaged from the Woolsey fire a couple years back now. That area was burnt to a crisp so I was impressed to see anything still there. Vegetation has grown back in too.

Yup! A neat stop along the way before hobbling up the hill to a viewpoint overlooking the ocean.

Clear enough to make out San Gorgonio in the distance!

It was in our newsletter, I thought I posted it on here but I can’t find it. Our post history doesn’t seem complete to me.

Supposed to hit 110 further up-state (Sac Valley) on Sunday. Thankfully, I’ll be starting my vacation that weekend, which means a lot of pants-optional days ahead.

Are the beaches open? Because yeah without AC, a long time in the water sounds like the best solution.

I’ve chosen to aim for maximum altitude instead! Was in the 50s by morning at mammoth Lakes. Will certainly be a bit warmer tonight in lone pine but I’ll be spending the day tomorrow above 10,000 feet for sure.
