Wasn’t expecting a Toyota to perform so bad.
The Hybrid4 powertrain of the 3008 has 300hp and is also used on the DS7 and a sportier version will be used on the 508 PSE.

Why not? Toyota’s have a tradition of being non-competitive in almost everything but reliability. They looked bad, drove horrible and had poor interiors.
Having said that, the very latest generation of Toyotas are said to be much more bearable than the generations before it.

The RAV-4 driver was being sillier with the gas pedal, stabbing it like some sort of maniac. Don’t most current AWD systems recommend steady gas and letting them figure it out? This guy was just flooring it for a second at a time and then letting go.
That said the Pug definitely performed better. R AV-4 with ESP off didn’t send any power to the rear it seemed?

Yeah Honda sure is pretty laughable on some of those. Why bother with AWD at all if you’re going to run open diffs with almost no ability to control wheel spin.
I wasn’t even shopping for AWD but was pleased to learn my V60 handles those tests with ease. It sure goes good in snow!

I didn’t even know that some manufacturers did open central diff, it’s not just bad, it’s stupid as you have the mileage penalty and not much use for the traction while not costing that much less than a torsen (compared to the whole additional cost of the 4WD).

I would guess that they don’t care. These are commuter cars, not off roaders like the Land Cruiser . Consumers typically want AWD because they like the feeling of having AWD. It’s a box that needs to be ticked on the option list. How it actually behaves in real life is apparently not that important.
