One of the few complaints I’ve had about my Suzuki Marauder is that it’s windshields is absolutely useless. Maybe for some one 5’8” or less it would be great, but I’m 6’2” and for me it Just sent all the air right at my helmet.
The first thing I did was move it up as high as I could, it’s meant to sit right on the headlight, which looks great, but puts the windshield way too low. It actually wraps around the headlight a bit so to move it up I had to trim the bottom. I need to clean up the cuts.
That helped a bit, but still caused a lot of buffering on the top of my helmet. It was so bad I actually took the windshield off for awhile. So I set out to make a windshield extension. Yes you can buy universal ones but where’s the fun in that. Plus I figured I had the materials to do it for free.i started with the visor from this broken modular helmet
I trimmed it down on the sides, drilled some holes, and used some old weather stripping to bump up the angle on the extension.
I took it for a test ride and it works well. If I sit up a straight as possible, and stick my head out, then I hear the buffering on my helmet.
I’m so glad it finally works. All I needed was an upside-down visor.

Non-adjustable, w hat sort of backwater hack are you?
Actually it looks nice, clever. See if the boy gives you any feedback on changes in backpressure(s) . Fine tuning based on his input as well as your own might prove worthwhile.
I thought you’d take it off and abandon it somewhere it needed to get moved to clean for the next two decades.

It’s not any less adjustable than it was lol.
Now that I’ve spend a few hundred miles on the highway I move grown real tired of riding with no windshield

That’s my biggest complaint with a “naked” bike. Even when I was young and invincible, I hated riding without a windscreen.

When you see a snarly looking biker it makes more sense now I bet.

I still enjoy a naked bike, but it is exhausting to ride one.

When kept under a certain speed (20, 30 mph?) they are fine. Dirt bikes and four-wheelers are a lot of fun, for example. But a naked bike on the highway? Forget it. A constant 55-75 mph wind blast just isn’t fun.

On the highway they're downright unpleasant.

I used to have a VZ800.
Great handling bike.

I’m still not used to the weight, it’s more than double the weight of my XT200. But I do like it. I’m in the middle of a ride right now just stopped for a snack.
