The power is back on and I have no idea how power infrastructure works. Eight power poles in a line were blown over. Why do we only get power from one line?

Because 2 lines would be twice as expensive.

Hell yeah, I got my Honda with a propane kit, I’m not going through three or four days of no power like last year. The fridge was the biggest issue, I had to pack it full of ice and put milk etc.. in coolers.

I doubt that. In fact, if you live in Cana
da, I suspect you have no idea how much people pay in the USA (especially, California).

Ah yes, “someone else has it worse so you can’t complain”. My favourite.

Where are you at? Is there a road parallel with yours?
How hard would it be to make your line a loop?
When I was living in Lutz, Florida
a few years back, there was only one line into my street, and when there was a lightning strike
this one transformer down the street blew up
- this happened at least once a year -
the power would
usually be off
for abo
ut 18 hours. Then one day, after a bunch of custo
mer complaints,
Tampa Electric
completed a
loop to
the next block over, and when a line went down or a transformer blew up, it
automatically switched
the line and power would be back
between ten seconds and fifteen minutes later.

She looks so cute and peaceful there.
Like butter wouldn't melt in her mouth.
