Have been waking up every hour with chapped lips and a dire need for water. It’s currently about 3am. The past 4 times I woke up, went to get water/soda (because my faucet water kind of tastes like gator piss, so sometimes I’d like. to drink something drinkable), and tried to fall asleep.

This time, I woke up from what I guess you could call a nightmare. I was driving through a beautiful little neighborhood on a gorgeous sunny day. There was a girl in the passenger’s seat, who I can only assume was my dream girlfriend. I had just left school, and aperrantly had a fantastic day (Hank S chrader from breaking bad happened to be one of the teachers. In what subject, I don’t know, but he made me smile.)

Then, as I’m rounding a corner in this little, upper class suburban neighborhood, my front tires slip and I oversteer. I take my foot off the gas, but they continue to skid forward due to the weight of the car. I finally get the car straightened out only to drive straight into the side of a Toyota RAV 4 (in a really ugly tea l green color). The front end of my car completely crumpled, yet it managed to shove the RAV4 out of the way so that my car could continue on, plowing into a little Fiat 500 (newer) parallel parked next to the RAV. Sent that car spinning to the left, and then I finally stepped on the brake.

Artists Rendition of the Dream... It’s funny, there aren’t too many crashed Acura TSX Sportwagons to be found online. Maybe TSX drivers are just better... or, the more likely option, maybe there are so few of them crashed because there are so few of them on the road.

I know it’s highly unrealistic that I’d 1.) oversteer at low speeds, 2.) press my foot on the gas to correct it (which is what dream me did) rather than take my foot off it, 3.) Crash into a RAV 4 so hard that it pushes it up a driveway, 4.) Crash into a Fiat so hard after crashing into a RAV 4 that it sends the Fiat spinning left, and 5.) actually getting out of an accident that nasty. But that dream looked so real, the damage and everything. That is, until my car grew a fishtail (so I guess I fishtailed instead of oversteered ?).

I recently was helping a friend with car shopping, nothing serious, just curiosity browsing, and went o n IIHS for some safety ratings. Popped my own car in and, while the front end is mostly good, it turns out I’ll likely destroy my feet in a high speed frontal accident.

I’m surprised that made it past my safety stickler of a mother, but it did, so I’m not telling her, and you better not snitch on my wagon either .

Now, if you’d excuse me, I’m going to drink some coconut water and attempt to pass out... again...

Dreams in the time of Corona are no joke. There’s probably some meta energy about your life being off-track or inability to find happiness buried in there.

Was Fields, Matter, and Waves too, that class was hard! I was really glad when I remembered I graduated over 16 years ago, so it was unlikely I had to do anything...

I had your usual getting chased dream. Except it just went on and on and on and I was two people chasing me and another guy I didn’t know was in it with me . And it kept going on and on.

For some reason it started with me winning a prize at a fairground. I climbed a pole and did something oddly specific with placing a peg on a pigeon. Then, I won lots and lots of birds. Like, way too many birds, almost all flightless. But for some reason they were super chill and never tried to run away. Those birds were amazing.

Then, later in the dream, I incurred the wrath of those two guys. I think I was in a high end restaurant but with different themed ones below and above in this conference hotel.

For some reason I was trying to hide this small thing because they wanted it. Looked like a tennis ball but flatter. I was running down the corridors and kept running into the other guy getting chased. Did a few switchoffs. Did some sick jumps off of balconies.

Eventually it ended up outside and we climbed on the roof of a train. It kept going through low tunnels and I was trying to shove my attacker into the signs and other stuff attached to the roof. It was pretty scary. I almost fell off once.

After a long time I managed to get off and I ran into a nearby target. I managed to confuse them in the clothing section but there wasn’t anywhere to go and the parking lot was so big they would always see me leave. I ran around there for a while and usually managed to shake them. All if my impromptu weapons didn’t work though.

Finally, I tried to make a break for the parking lot to try to steal a getaway car. It didn’t quite work but I got a flag pole as a weapon and the dream cut off just before the fateful moment as they rushed me. Then I woke up to discover I was late for class..

And that was an abridged version that didn’t include the first part where I got trapped in a haunted ghost town. But that part is so hard to explain I think I’ll pass.

I’ve never had that dream though because it happens too often in real life ;)

It’s funny, right now my life seems to finally be getting back   on track. I’m reconnecting with a lot of my friends, have meaningful things to do, and am feeling pretty grand.

Maybe it’s a reminder of how fast it can all fall apart? I’d like it to not do that.

I usually have the “you’re up on stage and don’t know your lines” equivalent to this dream. I used to do theater, but I don’t do it anymore. Even still, I have this dream a bit too.

Sheesh, your dreams are ultra vivid man. My dreams never feel longer than 5 minutes, so I kind of envy you and your ability to see into the dream realm for so long. Then again, I don’t think I’d like to be trapped in some crazy nightmare for an entire feature length film timespan.

I’m no fortune teller or psychic , and even if I were, I don’t think I’d be able to decipher that dream...

The birds were cool though. I think I’d like a lot of flightless birds...

I usually don’t remember mine either, but when it comes to my car how could I have forgotten it.

And I tell you, those flightless birds were some real cool cats. Hard to explain, but having a swan AND a goose to hang out with was amazing. There were others that actually we re flightless but those were my favorites.

Yes, having extraordinarily vivid and oddly long dreams does have its downsides, but I like it. Towards the end of the third part where I was running I wondered why I didn’t I wasn’t getting tired. That usually seems to happen in my running away dreams but I’ve never quite realized I was in a dream because of  it.

The weirdest part is probably that the dream took place between me getting woken up by my alarm at 8:15 and actually getting up at 10:30. I always thought they took longer in real life.

I can never tell how long a dream is in real time. Sometimes it’s an hour, sometimes it’s all night, but everytime I dream it never lasts long, or I forget a lot of it.

It’s odd, I have lots of little dreams (and a terrible memory), you have a big dream with vivid memory of it. Just last night, right after I made this post, I woke up at 4 am because my body hates me. Went back to sleep. Woke up to bright sunlight and such at like 8am. Went back to sleep. Woke up at 6am, shrouded in darkness. I can only assume I dreamed waking up at 8am, but it felt like my regular morning of waking up, seeing that it’s light out, and refusing to get out of bed...

Either that, or I invented time travel in my sleep... literally...

Maybe you slept through a freak solar eclipse? Reminds me of that Calvin and Hobbes comic where Calvin dreams of waking up to get ready for school then waking up from the dream to get ready for school only to discover he dreamed that too. Weird. 

I don’t have one big dream, I have three big dreams. I don’t know why I dream in feature length trilogies but I do. I just don’t always remember all three parts evenly. For instance, in that dream, the haunted ghost town was tenuously connected to the later part where I won tons of flightless birds that then led into me getting chased for having some sort of illicit information concealed in a weird container that looked like a flattened tennis ball. It’s almost always like that.
