FWIW, the British don’t operated the Leopard 2, they have the Challenger 2 ( !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , apparently ) . Could have just been Challengers operating under the call-sign “ Leopard 2", or it was the Canadian forces, who do have Leopard 2s. Make of it what you will.

It’s undoubtedly fake. However 2007 would be the first year any Leopards would be deployed to Afghanistan, first by the Canadians and foll owed by he Danes. The US would not deploy any Abrams to Afghanistan until 2010. Can’t find any concrete answer on Challengers other than that they have been there, apparently.
