Cheetos Mac and cheese round 2 : Cheesy Jalapeno

Just as creamy and slightly less luridly orange as the Bold & Cheesy. It tastes slightly less cheesy with a really satisfying jalapeno kick. It’s a light heat and it doesn’t stick around.

All in all a major improvement over the Bold & Chees y. I paired it with some actual Cheetos which was a mistake. I can see the similarities but it was unnecessary to have them both at the same time.

You can’t tell very well from the picture but the noodles have little green flakes on them to convince you there was actual vegetables involved in here somewhere.

I would eat this again on purpose.

I am still thoroughly disgusted by the mere existence of this product. And Cheetos are my favorite junk food. Although, you did give it a pretty glowing review and I was planning on going to Kroger later.

I’m about to make a terrible decision aren’t I?

I went to the store yesterday and did not see these in with the rest of the mac and cheeses. Stuck with my usual cheap kroger deluxe (so I don’t ha ve to buy milk). Maybe I will get cheetos and make my own concoc tion.

The only place I can find these for sale is through Amazon, and they want 7 bucks a box. I’m intrigued enough that I might just spend that much..........

This is the one of the three, I’m most interested in. Glad to hear it was a success.

If I might ask, where do you put yourself on the scale of m ac n cheese lovers? 0 someone who dete sts it, up to 10 someone who eats it a few times a week?

Also, what are your other favorite m ac n cheese brands?

If yes, I can see the appeal of this product and ultimately because it seems so outrageous, means we may have been missing something critical in our lives.

Could having Cheetos mac n cheese sooner,  allowed us to avoid COVID?

I found them at Walmart. I was walking past as they were stocking them because people had already bought them all. They kindly opened a box so I could get all three.

If you blow up the picture you can see them. I promise you they were much more noticeable in person. My camera just didn’t want to pick them up.

Oh wow. I got them at Walmart. I’m not sure I’d recommend spending $7 on the Bold & Cheesy but Cheesy Jalapeno .... I would also not spend $7 on lol. Maybe Flamin’ Hot we’ll see.

That’s hard ... if we’re taking about boxed mac n cheese then probably like a 3. I don’t remember the last time I had boxed before this unless I was making it for my kids and ate a spoonful to make sure it was good before I gave it to them.

My kids love Kraft dinner as the Canadians call it. We’ll occasionally have the velveeta mac n cheese and if I’m honest that’s my favorite box mac n cheese. They used to sell it with broccoli. Yum!

If my wife was making her homemade mac n cheese then I’d crawl through a desert of broken glass for a bowl.

When I heard about them on a radio show they said they were only available at Walmart as far as brick and mortar stores go.

That seems insanely expensive, it that for a ~ 6 Oz box?

And is it really this long and “complicated” to cook :

I always thought that it was like A sian noodles that only require a little hot water and/or less than 2 minutes on a microwave.

If it’s the case, can’t you buy and cook “normal” pastas and add the powdered cheesy thing over as it would be less annoying than having to do all that for a small portion every time and would cost less?

No, it’s not a thing in here as pastas is the most common dish and everybody (who likes that) have fresh cheese on their fridge (either pre-grated or that they grate when needed) so it would make no sense to buy ma c’n’cheese as it’s not e ven faster, simpler or cheaper to make.

My family developed this like 20+ years ago. Cook some macaroni, mix in that liquid nacho cheese sauce that comes in a big can for making ballpark nachos, and you have what we call “Power Mac”.

It’s surprisingly almost identical to the liquid cheese packet mac and cheese, aside from having some spice. It is delicious, though I can see how i t doesn’t sound like it would be.
