Changed the oil on the truck today, and it was going great. Hands were spotless. I could deliver a baby with those hands. Just gotta put the drain plug in and......drop it in the pan of hot dirty oil. Mother fucker.

Tried to show my 6 year old daughter about checking the oil level, then looked at my Nissan Leaf in the driveway. Is there a point anymore?

Lastly, a toy review.

Nerf disruptor. Holds 6 darts, pump action to load and advance barrel. shoots far, but occasionally inaccurate. I nailed my four year old, running, in the head at 15 yards, and missed my six year old at ten feet. SCUD missiles, all day. Love it.

That sucks about the oil plug.

Yes, there is a point. ICE will be around for a long, long, long time. Even though I’ve never actually owned a car with 3 pedals, I’m planning on buying one in the next year to make sure that my 15 year old learns. She may never need to know how to do it but it can’t hurt to teach her more stuff before she leaves my house in a few years.

I recognize those darts. I run them over with my lawn mower all of the time since the kids from next door never pick up their shit when they’re done.

In their defense, they can fly really far. I play with my kids and they've launched some I couldn't track down.

you ain’t changin’ the oil unless you burn yourself, bash your knuckles or splash the old oil all over or any combination there of

I’d give them the benefit of the doubt but they leave all kinds of toys laying in our yard so it’s more likely that they just don’t look for them. I used to stop and move them when I saw them but it got to be I was always stopping so I asked them to be sure to pick them up. Now I just mow along and if I hit some, so be it (the darts, that it. I still move the toys) . It’s not a huge deal, but if I was their parent I might start wondering why they always need to get more darts.

Oh, you must not own a K series FWD Honda. Because then you get the enjoyment of having oil run down your right arm as you try to get the filter off and out from the back of the engine..... I have a special shirt for that job.....

Same situation on my wife's pilot. I changed the oil once, probably not again. If it was on a lift, maybe it's not awful.

One of the most under-rated benefits of EVs, IMHO. Once I found a copy of the service schedule for ours and saw that it essentially consisted of “look underneath and make sure nothing’s fallen off” , it has n’t seen the inside of a workshop since.

Mind you , the 86 makes up with it at an oil cha n ge eve ry 3 track days. It’s at least an easy one to do cleanly though, and it has the most civilised oil filter arrangeme nt I’ve ever met: easy to access and guaranteed to drip into the catch- bowl not onto your arm.

Then there's the f150 with the offroad package and skid plate. The filer has a plate directly under it. But don't worry! There's this little channel and basin that is supposed to direct the oil. It works flawlessly if your goal is to get oil everywhere.

I changed the oil on the lady’s 200 last weekend. Everything was going so well and clean until I tried to install the new filter. Dropped it right into the drain pan leading to oil getting EVERYWHERE.
