Was shocked to hear this last night. Listened to his music a lot about a decade ago, and saw him live once - was amazing. So young, such an amazing talent. What a loss.

38 years old, married with a 3 year old daughter. And of course a great talent. Awful.

Damn. I remember when his first album came out, and thinking “eh, this is gonna be Jakob Dylan all over again”. I could not have been more wrong.
H e must have felt some immense pressure as a writer, given his namesake & his father.

There’s some stuff in there that’s hard to listen to right now. Justin seemed to have inherited a lot of talent, but some demons, too.

Difficult to hold back the tears.

This was very sad news last night.

I somehow missed it yesterday, and didn’t see it until late this afternoon. Very very sad.

The middle of the 2nd video, where he starts talking about his father nearly losing his son, was the final straw.

In that second clip, the section when he talks about the fact that his grandmother had to bury her oldest son is particularly rough . I can’t imagine what that must do to a parent . I hope losing JTE doesn’t break his decades of sobriety.

I hope Steve has a good support system through this terrible moment, and for the years ahead.
