I like everybody else will be watching on TV. And I expect a Penske will win.

I will definitely be watching. I reckon this is Dixi's year.

I live in Indy so watching it has rarely been an option. I’ll be driving to a cabin in Southern Indiana anyway.

It feels so weird to not be there this year.

For some reason this year I want an underdog to get the win.

I agree on Dixi. Though I liked his quote on the Penske’s sandbagging.

I didn’t see that.

I honestly don't think they were sandbagging. They almost exclusively focused on race running in practice. I expect the Penskes to be super fast tomorrow. I think it will be a great race, as there are so many really good cars starting in the back of the field.

Yep, didn’t care about qualifying and p ractice was about race pace. Hence the word sandbagging. Make Honda look good so they stay in the show. Agree it will be a great race. Too bad the pandemic had to screw up the season.

I don't think that's sandbagging. To me it makes sense to focus on the race, when there is no danger of missing the race. Of the two manufacturers, I'm much more worried about Chevy leaving than Honda. There have been a couple articles recently about Honda urging the go-ahead with the hybrid systems on the new motor, and offering technical assistance to a third engine manufacturer. Chevy has been silent through this. I'm afraid the bean counters there may pull them out.

I share the concern regarding Chevy’s part. They are all in on electric so why fund IC engine racing. I don’t understand Honda and Hybrid. I figure if it doesn’t reduce costs or dramatically improve the show, it’s probably not right for today.....

I think it will help the racing, because they'll have more HP, and also an onboard starter.

Well, having onboard starters would be good. H opefully they are doing it in a way that requires minimal expenditures and team resources. Maybe a hybrid unit that is integrated to a common transmission housing so everybody and every engine manufacturer doesn’t need to develop their own packaging, hardware and software.

“ Maybe a hybrid unit that is integrated to a common transmission housing”

I believe that's the plan, for it to be a spec unit in the bell housing.
