Looks tiny, probably because it is. Four bolts through the bumper and it’s fairly secure. Lot of flex in the bumper though, may have to reinforce it with some metal bracing from the bumper to the subframe. Lights will mount on the top of it  

Went with the KC halogen lights. In the end, they just look so much cooler than the Hellas. Those should be in Monday. Should be all set for next Saturday’s race.

I’ve thought about doing this exact same thing with my Accent and some driving lights to give me better long-distance lighting reach on high-beam at night...

I did the same 1.5+ years ago and fitted lights I had from Walmart or something from years ago, still have not wired them up.

Is it actually mounted just to the plastic bumper cover?  Not to any metal?

Yeah just the bumper. It’s secure with heavy bolts washers and nuts, but definitely will bounce around a bit.
