I thought I understood 415s30 and SBA on how messed up the multiple California fires.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Seeing how they all started is... sobering, to say the least.
That is frightening.

What was even more surprising to a lot of people is that this is the dry season. Generally speaking, the region receives practically zero rainfall from June-September.
For example, in Oakland, they average 0.07" of rain in August.
And of course, this is also what is making these storms so devastating. Everything is tinder-dry to begin with.

I have lived here my entire life and have never seen such active lighting. Lightning of any kind is exceedingly rare, but this was almost like a proper midwest electrical storm.

I love a good electrical storm. I do not like wild fires....
When I was living in California, it was not uncommon for lightning to start wild fires in the mountains and foothills.

My brother lives on the east side of the Bay, and I was surprised when he told me a few years ago that they never get thunderstorms. Something about being on the west coast, cool Pacific, whatever. 2020 keeps surprising.
