Food Review: 2020 Burger King Bacon Cheese Whopper & Jalapeño Bites

While car content is usually the main focus here, the #OppoHunt includes points for getting a crown. Enjoy this review of a classic:

The Jalapeño bites are an acceptable combination of spicy and cheesy, much like the movie 2Fast2Furious. They stack up nicely.

The Whopper itself is fairly large for a single-patty burger (the bigger diameter means it has almost as much meat as a Double-Double from In-N-Out) but is easy to eat due to a low overall burger height. There’s no “can’t wrap my jaw around it” problem that many stacked-patty burgers have.

While not excessively greasy, the Whopper isn’t super flavorful either, at least compared to other burgers. The bacon is barely noticeable and the beef is only inoffensive.

Overall, the Whopper won’t have you shouting “Long Live the King!” every time you eat it, but you won’t be up in arms in an attempt to overthrow him either. Decent burger, not a top choice but not a disappointment either.

I’d managed to forget that challenge.

I should grab it; I have a goal of making the highest score I c an without using any of the car challenges, since frankly I’d suck at them anyway, so I need all the other points I can get.

I don’t eat at burger king (just not a fan) but went last weekend for a crown for the oppo-hunt. They informed me after I paid for my lunch that they didn’t have any. Any future attempts, if made, will lead with the crown question...

I had a Whopper a few months ago for the first time in a few years. It tasted like fake smoke and mayonnaise. It used to be my go-to fast food burger back in the day. I see no reason to eat another one, but I’m intrigued to at least try the Impossible Whopper.

I had that recommended to me by someone here on Oppo before a drip to Taos a few years ago. My recommendation would be to skip the cheese, though, in order to enjoy the other flavors more. The cheese, IMO, while most delicious, was a bit overmuch. And the fries were bombin’ also.

Most of the foods I like at B urger King are not burgers. The original chicken sandwich is probably my favorite ( onions and pickles added). I really miss the Italian one, with mozzarella and marinara sauce. Their tacos are weirdly good, way better than Jack in the Box tacos. And the C roissanwiches, of course.

Oh, that sucks. We asked for one at the drive-through window. They said they would put it in the bag and politely requested that we relocate to the front lot. They were handing out drinks at the window and giving their cooks time to catch up by delivering the food to the parking lot. There were communication problems, a lack of coordination, no controlled parking, and BK employees wandering all over the lot trying to figure out who ordered what food. We finally got our food, sans crown. I asked him to bring out a crown. It took him two more trips before he finally delivered a crown. Mayhem, I tell ya!

That’s what I ordered. It may be the best they offer, but I wasn’t impressed.
