Nah that is definitely fixable, the biggest pain will be trying to not stretch the fishingline as you untangle it.
The one that lives on my desk in my classroom looks like that at least once a year.

Always happens and I have always fixed it. Sometimes it takes near an hour but usually it really isn't as bad as you think.

You sure it was an accident? My grandfather gave me one of those when I was a kid and my mother hated it, and so it just sat there, unused...
