I went to school with a young lad called Stephen Ramsbottom (really nice guy). Nobody ever took the piss out of his name, because his best mate was huge (for our age), he was about a foot taller and always very serious looking ( but had the most feminine eyes and lashes). So Stephen was always left alone.

Whenever I think about Wankel engines and apex seals, my mind turn s back towards piston engines and the elegant simplicity of piston rings. Hats off to this man.

(Eh... not that apex seals are complicated. ...I guess the simplicity and elegance is owed more towards the geometry of a cylinder. But still! Pistons are good, and split piston rings are such a great way to seal them)
