I still want a Cybertruck or something like that (F250 is like that, right?!), but I might have to talk my wife into this Caddy right hurr.

Love it, except for the name.

I li ke it. Can’t wait to see how boring the actual production model is.
![]() 08/06/2020 at 19:35 |

Kind of a semi-notchback look going on, the line between crossovers and passenger cars is getting more and more blurred. Put slightly smaller wheels on it, and it could pass for a sedan.

Would you rather have an XT5e?
![]() 08/06/2020 at 19:40 |

It really is a cringy name - but the demographic might like that, hunting for E-tron buyers perhaps (Tesla cultists are far more loyal).

Eye bleach please, you can have the Caddy I’ll take the Volvo every time.

“We’re about to drop the mic.”
That’s not how it works, Cadillac.

It will probably not be very exciting once it makes it to production. I think the XT6 is pretty sharp looking, though. Too bad that’s all it has going for it.
Also found this hilarious reply when I clicked on one of the pictures:

They better keep the production version close to this. :(

Heck no, mo vin g back to actual names was the right move for Caddy, same for Lincoln.
However, it should be a name that leaves an impression and easily remembered, like Escalade has become.
Lyriq ? Come on.

Liking the dash display. Sort of reminds me of those long horizontal speedometers cars had in the...70's? 60's?
![]() 08/06/2020 at 20:01 |

No, Cadillac, Elvis would not drive the Lyriq. It doesn’t pass the test. Instead, use the EV skateboard chassis for a classy pillarless coupé flagship! I found this concept car that captures the vibe quite well:
This can’t possibly be a Cadillac design though, it looks nothing like the current product line. I wonder what company designed it?

Sounds like an old vaudeville theater

Nice RX-L

Im sure it will age well throughout the long life of this nameplate (snicker)
![]() 08/06/2020 at 20:17 |

See but I’d expect that to be “Lyric”. Like for example: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lyric_Opera_of_Chicago
Lyriq just sounds like parents spelling their kid’s name poorly so that it’s “ unique”

Not for me. Not terrible from the front, but man that rear hatch/taillight combination is a disaster.

Hopefully it looks better in person. Doesn't move the needle for me right now.

History says there won’t be a production vehicle

I’m good thanks. The concept is cool, but I doubt the production version will look anything like it.
Also...I’m tired of EV trucks, crossovers and SUVs.....Lordstown, Rivian....the Cybertruck, Ford’s EV F150....I know ‘it’s not what the market wants’, but I don’t WANT an SUV or a crossover or a truck, I want a car, damnit :(

But have you considered that the Tesla models look like eggs, and this Cadillac does not look like an egg.
![]() 08/06/2020 at 21:08 |

The fact that the plainly state in the tweet that it is a show car, does not exactly fill me with confidence that the production model will offer more than a passing resemblance...
...at night...
...with no lights on...
...and you forgot your glasses.

Saw this on Facebook, probably in a Volvo group. What the hell is going on with this grill Cadilac ?
![]() 08/06/2020 at 21:56 |

So they decided to take the Camaro’s rearward visibility and double down on it...
![]() 08/06/2020 at 22:10 |

...but electric!
![]() 08/06/2020 at 22:12 |

I prefer sharp lines and a design that looks like a 4 year old infatuated with triangles was in charge of the architecture.
![]() 08/06/2020 at 22:13 |

Shouldn’t have a grill, really.

LCD screens and cameras are replacing mirrors anyways. I’m okay with that.

Cadillac says it’s comi ng, and I believe them, but it’s a couple years out still.

Cadillac hasn't stopped the mic since the second gen CTS-V.

I worry GM will drop the ball in the following ways:
- price will be too high
- range won’t be as promised
- production version will look more bland
- by the time it actually comes to market, there will be other, better EVs from the competition
![]() 08/07/2020 at 10:00 |

Are they? At what point will they actually be legal in the States?
![]() 08/07/2020 at 10:04 |
|
Cadillac has been using the rear view mirror (not side mirrors) as a screen since 2016.
![]() 08/07/2020 at 10:11 |
|
Ah, rearview. Is it screen only, or one that can switch between mirror or screen?
![]() 08/07/2020 at 10:16 |
|
It can be switched to a regular mirror.
![]() 08/07/2020 at 10:17 |
|
I also just realized that the car doesn’t have normal side mirrors. Of course, that’s illegal right now (and will be changed sometime in the next two years).
![]() 08/07/2020 at 10:32 |
|
Gordon Murray’s T.50 has cameras & screens for side mirrors. Might be a couple billionaires on this side of the pond lobbying hard for the change before that goes for sale...
![]() 08/07/2020 at 11:26 |

...on the other side of a large city...
...covered in a tarp...
...in a shipping container.
Then it looks like it, possibly.

I’m a bit iffy about the rear end - I think the XT4 and CTS wagon had a good thing going as far as distinctively Cadillac styling back there.
Otherwise though, it looks nice. I expect the production version won’t be very different - smaller wheels, slightly chonkier door handles, actual mirrors, but that’s about it.
