Proof (for the rest of the world that doesn’t do Oppo) that they aren’t all utter fuckwits. However, no-one in the media outside the US (assuming that this comes from the US) is really going to push that angle....

Thankyou for saving me from Twitter. However, I'm sure it will rot your intellect...so make sure you wear a mask from here on in.

That is awesome.

We had one of our restaurants in Miami-Dade County get fined because a customer wouldn’t wear a mask, even after the code inspector told him to put one on. Code inspector made us call the cops on the guy, then issued a fine to us on top of that. (Our employees ask customers to put on a mask, but they don’t escalate the issue.)

Definitely a tough situation. When I worked retail, I wouldn’t have wanted to risk getting assaulted because people are entitled assholes.

This should be posted on the doors of every public building in the country.

I don’t think retail/restaurant workers should have to do anything besides saying “you need to put on a mask or leave”. Beyond that, just call the police like they would with any trespasser.

I love the sign, especially the fact that they spelled “you’re” correctly. We should have that sign on every door of every business in the US.
To our Oppo friends from around the world - do your countries have the problems we do here with idiots whining about having to wear a mask? I get the impression that in general, select Americans are the only ones who feel this is an attack on their “ rights”.

we have these “anti-mask” idiots too

We have them, but there not as bold or as many. I have never actually seen someone complaining in person, and now that masks are mandatory vis-a-vis a by-law I haven’t seen anyone refusing to wear one.

Here’s how that goes:
E: Please put on a mask or I will be unable to serve you.
Karen: [Rants about whatever]
E: Please put on a mask or I will have to ask you to leave.
Karen: [Now yell
ing
]
E: Please stop or I will have to call the police
.
Karen: [Screaming, waiving arms wildy, etc.
]
E: Calls police
Karen: Hires lawyer, sues for
discrimination, has FB post claiming she was targeted because of _____, people pile on, leave bad reviews, etc. {Note: physical violence always is a possibility as well}
OR
E: Please put on a mask or I will be unable to serve you.
Karen: [Rants about whatever]
E: Um, okay,
hat can I get for you today?
Karen: Orders
E: Here’s your order. Thank you and have a great day.
Karen: Leaves restaurant quietly.
What do you think we tell our employees to do?

Yes. And while this picture was taken in Austin, TX about 6 weeks ago, I will say that mask compliance here, at least where I shop, is at least 99% right now.
And, in case your wondering, that blowhard’s shirt reads, “Snowflakes don’t last long in TEXAS.”

And that only exacerbates the problem because they know they can be a complete fucking tool and get away with it, which only encourages them to do it again.

They capitalized the first letter after a semicolon; the error negates the points for good semicolon use.

Perhaps, but if those people are already ignoring all the warnings ( requirements in some areas) , public opinion, our signs, and the other folks all wearing masks, I’m pretty sure getting ( or not getting) a fast food meal is not going to affect their behavior in least . O ur store-level employees just aren’t going to be the mask police.

Canada has also seen some anti-mask protests, but not in very large numbers. Most people are being compliant with the rules; I’ve not heard about any significant issues .
