While s crolling through my Linkedin feed, these two things come up in succession :
Being an old school cranky guy, I believe side-by-side are made for people who can’t ride a dirtbike. Dirt biking takes skills and some levels of efforts and physical strength, everything that most owners of these four-wheeled monstruosities can’t seem to possess.
There I said it, and I’ll get back to yell at the clouds.

Sounds like the top one is just a problem for obese people, as long as the vaccine works, they can shelter in place until everyone else is finished being vaccinated.

Alot of people prefer having some form of safety in the inevitable crash. Plus utv's and atvs are infinitely more useful in a rural environment as a tool

I’m going to out cranky you and propose that all dirtbikes should be single cylinder, kick start only, to really separate the hard asses from the soft asses.

Lot of useful applications for SxS that two wheels or even an ATV can’t do. I use a couple utility SxS all the time at work to get to sites a truck can’t. An SxS takes me and all the necessary tools, parts and equipment to lots of remote places where there are no roads or trails at all, and you can’t strap 20ft of weather station standpipe and antenna mas t to an ATV, but you can strap it to the roof rack on a UTV.

Agreed, SxS are justified as a niche for small offroad utilitarian vehicles.
But hauling a bunch of incompetent and overweight guys on a ADV trail ? Nope.

Side-by-sides are great for dunes and trails, especially with groups. You can take kids, the family and such and go out and have a blast without going full trophy truck. I don’t see them competing with dirt bikes and all, but taking up the places of cars like the Meyers Manx and trail only suitable modified Jeeps by being in a smaller package that can be towed easily.
Think half way between these:

Agreed. Most the SxS I see in action being used recreationally are being driven by douche nozzles.

Sand. Only the really, really hardcore guys ride dirt bikes in sand.

As a person that works for a company that makes these things, obese people aren’t exactly fitting in them. They are NOT roomy.
They’re also safer than an ATV or dirt bike in a crash - when my kid is old enough to get into an off roader I’d be much more likely to put him in a youth SxS than ATV or bike. Seat belts and ROPS.

So what you’re saying is that the way you enjoy doing something is the only real and proper way to do it? I won’t address you r opinion on fat people. Because, yeah.

Side by sides are for people who can’ t ride 4-wheelers.
4-wheelers are for people who can’t ride dirt bikes.

I’m still trying to figure out how they’re making a vaccine when they claim your body doesn’t keep antibodies over 2 weeks.....

I believe there is at least a
correlation,
and most possibly a causation, between
inactive
and generally incompetent
people
and their choice of off-road vehicle.
You don’t need to address, it’s a shitpost not an intelligent take.

Or when every other coronavirus vaccine has failed, including for the ones that cause the common cold, or when this one keeps mutating into different strains. Guess we'll have to see. Though, honestly, even a placebo would be worth it, if that's what it takes for people to get on with their lives.

GTIs are for people who can’t ride a SxS ?

Nah, different market. Side by sides are just modern jeeps.
Dirtbikes are no hardship for fat people.

I was almost crashed into today twice by someone joining a bit road legal side by side around a neighborhood. My goodness, the suspension lean on the pavement!
