The “you can’t do that” moment where Trump gets upset with him for actually citing real numbers in an unflattering way (confession: I’ve only read about it, I can’t bring myself to stomach listening to this overgrown man-child) reminded me of a chess game I played in high school.

Friend of mine was convinced he could finally beat me. He literally memorized a game in its entirety to beat me that way.

Of course, 3 or 4 moves in I played something different, and he complained about it.

I have to read a transcript, I can’t stand to listen to his voice spew garbage like the guy sitting across from him doesn’t know he is just full of shit. I skipped through it quickly and some of the interviewer’ s facial expressions were awesome, like Angela Merkel .

What’s bad is that for all his deep-down assholery, if only he would take his time and formulate complete, non-repetitive sentences before spewing them, people would take him more seriously (and he’d be a lot harder to pick on) . It’s a pressured level of self-aggrandizing speech pattern that I’ve only seen once before in a severe bipolar case, during a manic episode. It’s horrifying to watch in person, and he’s at least halfway there.

My MIL, like most of Trump’s Southern support base, literally write his speech off as “he’s just a plain spoken New Yorker” as an excuse. It’s sad.

The possibility that this horrible excuse for a human being could actually win reelection has me investigating what it would take to emigrate to Canada. Seriously. It’s embarrassing that we 1) elected him in the first place and 2) somehow couldn’t manage to impeach him. If the Democratic party had managed to field anyone other than Hillary, I don’t believe we’d be in the political nightmare land we find ourselves in today. ( COVID would still be with us, of course, but I think the US government would be handling it more efficiently.)

There is part of me that wants to believe he couldn’t possibly be the horrible person he appears to be and is simply trying to lose reelection so he doesn’t have to keep doing this job that ended up being way harder than he thought it would be. The realist in me says “no, he really is just that bad”.

I watched the interview just now. I don’t know if anyone picked up on this, when the interviewer asked a bout the case of deaths trump literally went “IT is what it is” my dude. Like WTF, this is crazy and insane, people are dying over a 150 thousand Americans. “China brought the virus” as if it is some biological weapon against economic tariffs, this man is smok in dicks. Like I cannot understand this, and people just think this is fine, I can’t tell if they refuse to admit to the mistake of voting for him, I am an adult I admit when I mess up I actuallyget commendedon it lol . The real problem is that if he loses this November, he needs to lose big . He needs to not only get no support from within his party after when he claims that millions of votes were fraudulent, people need to know that his brand of demagoguery won’t be tolerated again.

If it’s a close election, this could go very badly.

The margin won’t matter if he loses. He’ll just keep spewing his bile about it being a rigged system. I fully expect him to pull out every option he thinks he has to refuse acceptance of the results. What scares me the most is what kind of crap he might pull to make it look like a transition of power would be bad for the country (like starting a war). I don’t put it past him.

The more I think about this interview, and I have been, I wonder how much of what he spews are original thoughts or are those of his handlers. He’s not interested in any sort of detailed leadership at any level, so he’s getting these arguments from somewhere. His people must be putting those cherry picked charts in front of him for a reason. Who is really running the shit show?

That’s the “consensus” map - I guess the experts think it was close enough in 2016 and enough who voted for Trump won’t again this time. Seems like Biden’s stronger in the Rust Belt than Hillary was. We’ll see.
