As someone who has professionally worked on teh backbone of the internet for 20+ years and who was originally quite utopian in my hopes and dreams for what the internet would bring i would say that the internet, as a whole, was a mistake.

It would be better to tear down the public internet and go back to it being used only for University and Govt research and obliterate the public facing internet entirely.

I wonder... could collective stupidity be an emergent property of connection?  Or, perhaps to be more fair, collective stupidity and collective intelligence are two sides of the same emergent property caused by connection.  You can’t get one without the other.

Lol, i wasnt familiar at all with MC Frontalot but i dont disagree w/this!

Im 49 and the internet has broken the brains of ppl my age and older in huge numbers. The youngs in society have their problems but it seems like those 35 and younger are somewhat inoculated to the mind virus that is the internet.

But the olds (and im rapidly becoming one) have been totally brainwashed.
