It blew out again.
I don’t know whether I try fancy high-temp RTV this time, or if I go for the gold and take off the Hydraulic pump to get in there and thread the fucker... Problem is it leads straight to the cam oil galleries and I don’t want to introduce metal shavings into that area (obviously). I also don’t want to pull the cam because that requires disassembling the entire front of the tractor including removing the loader, front tin, and the entire cooling system.
Bollocks, as the Brits would say. Second cut hay is coming right up...

I reiterate, from the previous times: Why In Everloving Fuck is that plug not threaded? Its not like oil channels need a freeze plug?! Maybe I can braze it in, or just tack weld it... Of course the block is cast iron... I'm actually not sure if the plug is steel or aluminum, I've never had it actually out, but it looks like it's probably steel... I'm leaning toward brazing quite hard... Thoughts Oppo?

I ask myself why this plug is not threaded and why this plug is not threaded and again why is this plug not threaded?
Surely it must present a solution that exemplifies a minor inconvenience unlikely to be routinely encountered if the problem is understood.

Holes like that are usually because they needed to cross drill something like a oil gallery. Clean up the surface and JB weld over it?
The alternative might be get some Loctite S30, clean it up and cover it with that. S30 sticks to anything and stays flexible. It might do the trick.

If you don’t foresee a need to ever purposely have that plug out, I would definitely braze or weld it on.

That reminds me, years ago I had a “ weepy” oil drain plug. I hit it with brake cleaner to dry it and globbed it with RTV and it was fixed. I don’t see a reason it wouldn’t work with yours.

Most likely will need to pull the the pump, remove the plug and reinstall using a high- temp, oil tolerant retaining compound:

If yer going to tap it: poke an oiled c otton further down the hole than the threads will be. Drill and tap the hole. Grab the cotton with long plier/tweezers and screw it out. No chips.
