As of July 1st 2020, non-commercial motor vehicles in Ohio are no longer required to display a license plate on the front. An unusually benevolent thing to happen, and cause for today to be a holiday. Happy Freedom From Front Plates Day ! I celebrated by taking all mine off.

Strategic crop also makes a good banner to celebrate these not being on cars anymore

I even stopped by the storage unit to take the front plate and bracket off the RX7 just on principle. Fre edom for all !*

Safe and cozy in the storage unit

*The 124 never got a front plate and I didn’t intend to run one either way... oddly it’s the first car I’ve owned since moving to Ohio that didn’t already have a bracket or provision for a front plate on it anyway. I intentionally waited to get plates for it since the temp tags legitimize not having a front and were good until August .

I have it on good authority that you don’t actually need any license plate on a non-commercial vehicle, since its a private mode of travel, not for hire. Also, did you know that dinosaur bones are actually just something the Jews buried in 1924?

Yanked my Accord’s front plate about an hour ago.  Haven’t bothered with the Tacoma yet...it’s an ‘05 standard cab and nothing’s going to make it look better.

Did you do it today? I’m curious if they’re still giving out two plates until the supply of bags-of-two-plates runs out or if they’re only giving you one of them now. On Monday I received two (since they were required for another 36 hours)

But where did they get them from to bury?

That was one good thing about moving to Michigan years ago.  But it’s cut my license plate collection in half every year since, but then again I have more cars with plates, so not too bad a change.  I do have quite a stack of plates though.  Kept them since I started driving in ‘95 or ‘96.
