Thinking about ways to cover up the four screw holes in my bumper cover now that I don’t have to have a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . Despite Doug DeMuro’s !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! of Americans who put Euro plates on their cars, he actually seems okay with !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .
Alternatively, I could do an E-type style sticker which would be a lot more subtle.
The text on these are just placeholders. I’m considering either using my actual plate number or coming up with something more clever. But I think it would be weird if the front didn’t match the back.
Feel free to mock me in the comments.

Nice 1 series! I miss mine. I’d say it’s a good idea.

Thanks!
Now that I’ve mocked it up, I’m really leaning toward the E-type style.

I actually like the front Euro plates on Euro cars. I think it would look good.

You can also put a French “plaque collection” which is raw metal on black, allowed for cars that older than 30 years old :

Jus t drill the holes out a little bigger and push in some of these:
It looks fine, you can hardly tell unless you get up close.

Mount an oversized bli nker flu id reservoir on the front. Oh, wait, it’s a BMW.. never mind

Get some plugs for the holes and call it a day. With a black bumper you won’t be able to tell.

Good idea, wrong decal:

Yeah BMW clearly designs their small BMW’s for E
uro plates first and foremost. I too am generally speaking against using Euro plates in America, but this car falls easily into the “exceptions
” category.

But then I would have to look at it.

I would rather leave my front plate on. There are enough BMW logos on it already.

The Jaguar-style decal is actually supposed to use silver text, so it'd be a similar look. I do like those.

My car had a front plate bracket on it for the first 5 years of its life, it really turned out fine. You really do have to get up close to even see that the plugs are there. I did the same thing with my Mustang and Town Car, both of those had the holes in the glossy painted area, but a couple dabs of touch-up paint, and they were fairly hidden. Up to you, but if you want to make it like the plate was never there, this is as close as you can get without Bondo and a partial respray.

Those blend in really well!
Unfortunately, I don’t have the advantage of a matte black trim piece on the front of my car and I have four holes in close proximity set right out in front of everything. Plus my paint is a tri-coat metallic so a tube of touch up paint isn’t going to blend all that well.

Ouch, OK, never mind then.
I got lucky, on my Mustang, the plate itself was attached to the bracket with too long screws that went through the bracket and dug into the paint, even though the bracket itself attached in an inconspicuous area. I really expected this to be the same way, but there was no damage to the painted area at all, not even uneven fading, which is always a problem with reds.
