Or are these possibly the worst photos I’ve ever seen in an ad?
I do appreciate the owners effort to prevent me from actually needing to look at a Citation.

That’s basically what I owned back in the day. Someone would have to pay me big $$ to own one again.

“Artsy” porn shot.
Wasn’t that a gag in Archer? One of the female staff was taking some glamour head shots, hoping to get a movie role, and Archer-and-crew wisecrack to the effect that “there ain’t enough Vaseline in the universe” to coat the lens that thick.

I haven’t seen that, but I remember Jeremy on Top Gear putting Vaseline on a lens saying it would make his race start look more dramatic.

It's the Sahara sand plume or whatcha call it. Yup, that's it.

I’ve never seen shots so blurry without a well focused thumb in the foreground blocking the plate.

This is like they did that and decided to take the pictures during heavy fog to boot.

Hopefully it takes the car with it when it leaves.

Man, I don’t remember the last time I saw one of these turds on the road.
It’s disappointing to know there’s at least one still out there.

At least it isn't inexplicably in black and white

Wistful nostalgia.

I believe that’s also Barbara Walters’ trademark.

I’ve seen a few far away pitch black lights off photos but never such complete obscurity in every photo.

I’ve seen a few where they took the only ad picture through a screen door at night. This is the only time I remember seeing someone put in the effort to post multiple photos and having none of them be redeeming.

At least the Chevette was rwd so you could drop in an engine that would constitute a death wish. With this you just wait for the sweet release of death or actually getting up to 60 whichever comes first.

Perhaps they were taken with the 110 film camera that was sitting in the glove box for 30 years?
For a barn find, that would be pretty damn on point.

And for that added touch they never closed the film trap door for the artsy improper exposure look.

As a lover of many vehicles that most would consider shitty I feel bad for anyone wistful about a citation.

Yes, like it takes some serious stupidity to take so many absolutely terrible photos.

Yeah.....the cartr idges probably melted along with a few 8-tracks that were in there!

Mine maxed out somewhere a round 70. I was following my dad on the interstate once and he left me behind, I literally could not keep up with him.
Asked him later, he had set cruise control and couldn’t figure out how it happened. Sure enough, a few weeks later he got a speeding ticket because his spee dometer was misbehaving.

70mph in a Citation sounds terrifying.
I had a car that would occasionally run away while set on cruise. If I was on a big enough hill and it would rev above a certain RPM to maintain speed it would stick at that RPM till I shut off cruise. I never got a ticket but it scared the crap outta me the first time.

Yeah, I didn’t stay at top speed very long. And, we’re talking 30 years-old memories , so it might have only been 65.
Whatever it was, I wasn’t happy to be there.

Mom bought a used one when I was in high school.
Not wistful, by any damn stretch here...

Thats one way to make a citation look good.

I’m not sure even soft focus will help to sell this one.

The only Chevettes I ever had to deal with were still saddled with the original sad 4 banger. However, fitted with some aggressive snow tires & driven in zero-fucks-given style, they could be thrashed through the woods farther & faster than some would expect. Not as much room for activities in the back as the Citation, though.
The Pontiac Phoenix was the Citation’s twin, right? Somehow, I managed to date two different brunettes in the span of a year, each of whom owned a white Pontiac Phoenix. First-hand experience with discovering just how much room for activities wa
s to be had in the back. “le petite mort” counts as the sweet release of death, right?
