Adventure bikes are my favorite

He brought up a good point in the video that the Tenere 700 is barely any lighter than the Tiger 900 and although it has a good suspension setup, it looks like it still prefers fire road scrambling to Rally Raid style roads and riding.

Great machines. It’s amazing watching the riders of the Dakar.

The segment is expanding down to produce some smaller and very capable adv bikes in the 300-400cc range to gap the stripped down 250 dual sports and the heavier 650 that have been dominant.

I’ve only ridden a CB500X , but I know I could daily that bike through our climate with gear and two different sets of tires .

Triumph did a really good job with the weight (it’s exactly what my 650 weighs) and reviews say that the 900 Tiger is an excellent bike as well.

The KTM is always the threat in this segment too, now that they have the goldilocks range of the 390-790 -1290.

I’ve been really excited since they first debuted the concept a few years ago, but I just can’t choose this over a Husky 701 for a dedicated adventure bike. It just weighs too much to be a serious off road bike for an amateur rider. I’m sure it’s a great street/fire road bike but that’s about it.

The Husky is 100 lbs lighter with only a few hp less.

My friend has a previous gen 900 XCX and he’s got almost 20k miles on it with no issues. I like the tenere 700, but the price is a major ouch. Might wait and see how it evolves over the next few years. Could be a real threat after some revisions
