There are 12 different “ models” with 8 of them available in 2 or 4 wheel drive giving a staggering 20 different trim levels before adding options. Holy shit Jeep.

It makes each one more unique by extension. FCA does options well and their configurator is pretty fun to use too.

Who do they think they are?

Doesn’t FCA do this with most of the Jeep lineup? I was looking at Wranglers and there are....just so many trims. Like others have said that’s even before options. I was psyched that an LSD was optional for every trim I looked at, for only around 600$ Every car should have the option of a LSD for <1000$, so I and 3 other people can buy them.

And I'd bet that on eight of them you are stuck with a black interior whether you want it or not.

Jeep’s website is weird. They break the Compass into like eight trims (Sun & Safety, Altitude, etc.), but they’re really just Latitude models with packages.

It was a PITA to look at JGC
models comparatively when I was cross shopping with my truck. I ended up just looking at Trailhawks. Most of them ones on the lots are
the
V6, not the V8 too (ugh).
Laredo
Limited
Trailhawk
Summit
SRT
Trackhawk
Jeep should be paying my consult fee any day now I’m sure...

At least that’s spanning 3 body styles. The Cherokees are all the same.

The TrackHawk is the only one to go for.

So what I’m hearing is that there needs to be a C abriolet and T arga version of the Grand Cherokee...

I had no idea there were so many trims. Cut that down to 5 big trim lines, and give people packages to add to each level to make up the difference.

All FCA products were like that. Dodge a few years ago separated them between standard and premium, plus shaker, scat pack, wide body, scat widebody. T/A, hellcat, hellcat widebody, redeye, demon.
Now I believe the TA and shaker are “packages” you can opt for when you select between RT and Scat Pack

dont start this thread again.
Screw it.
Vermont and New Hamp shire merge into one (Verhampshire?) , merge Massachusetts , Connecticut, and Rhode Island into New England.

The GOP would certainly like that.

They sell nearly a quarter million of these a year. When you have that kind of volume having a ton of trims starts to make some sense. But yeah it’s still a lot.

Yo u’re completely overlooking the opportunity for a coupe, followed by a gran coupe in 2 years.

Yeah this is insane, I tried to go build one and it took me FOREVER to find the cheapest trim you can get with a Hemi. These trims make no damn sense.

That is a FCA way. I remember working at the dealership trying to memorize all the Ram trims. I think there was 16 at the time, a lot of them overlap. But you’ve got your work trims, your “sporty” trims, your “ outdoor adventure” trims, and your luxury trims. And several ranks of each of those categories.

Hahaha I read your title, thought “yea there sure are a lot of trims”, then sat for a second, then realized I wrote this post 2
years
ago. Here it is:

So back then there were only 8 trims! Now they’re up to 12!!! Holy shit.
