I know a guy with an meticulously restored Century Resorter that has a Chrysler engine, probably the same as this one. It’s a beast for an ancient wood boat.

I didn’t know Chrysler also sold boat anchors....
Just kidding. Those super early hemis are pretty cool. But I'm pretty sure they are still a major PITA to find parts for and to build up.

I’m really enjoying the connection between us ur team rank and the real world. I thought about joining in, but couldn’t find a connection to my rank of 159,185. :)

Many years ago I bought a 427 top-oiler that had come out of a boat for a planned Cobra replica. The engine was reverse-rotation, so as part of the rebuild I had to have some machining done to the crank to use it in a car.

I did some research and this boat wouldn’t have had one of those Hemis in it I don’t think, but it’s a great scene. (Uber-corny movie, terrible acting, though Jane looks good in a bikini.)

Interesting. My b rother-in-law has a GM four-banger inboard boat engine from about 1964 that is disused and can probably be mine. I’d like to put it in some little T-bucket or similar, maybe with a T-5 5-speed behind it.

Yes exactly like that. I’m pretty sure it was faster than some of my cars.

If it came from a twin engined boat it might be reverse-rotation. If it was single screw you're good. What engine is it?

Just like this one:

Hard for me to imagine it’s worth $1,100 though.

Yea h, that seems a bit steep for a 140 unless it was just rebuilt.
