Twice this left to do... Had to pause to change the hydraulic filter and fluid in the Zetor halfway through. It was due for a filter (and was running hot as a result) and I wanted to change it over to synthetic fluid before winter, so 9.8 gallons of piping hot hydraulic oil drained and refilled in the blazing midday sun.

So you’ve got A1, BP1, and maybe a 2019 K1? What do the different labels tell you?

They tell me the field and the hay cut # (1st, 2nd, etc) that the bale came from. This is used to not only track field productivity and effectiveness of fertilizer regimes but also the preferences of the animals. This allows us to (try to) optimize our hay practices for maximum production and minimum waste. We track drying days, date of cut, typ e of grasses, etc.

Yeah, no self loader arm. It DOES have a dumper, but the way we stack, a manual unload with the grapple us a better use of time.

Where are you at? I haven't seen a new zetor like that around here! Or a cab like that on the little Ford!

I’m in Northeast Vermont. The Sims cab on the Ford is definitely a New England/Canada Thing, it’s aftermarket and made in Ontario. The Zetor is actually a 2017 Major 80. Last year of the Zetor 4.2l 4cyl with mechanical injection in the less-than-100hp tractors. The newer ones use a Deutz 2.9l with common rail electronic injection and DPF/regen etc... The over 100hp Zetors use the 16-valve 4.2l and are the only diesels in the world to meet tier 4 final emissions without a computer or electronic injection. Zetor still has a loyal (with good reason) following amongst operators that like to (or have to, due to remoteness) do their own mechanical work and don’t have spare machines in case of failures. I actually bought the tractor from a dealer in Arkansas, who us the largest volume Zetor dealer in the USA, and had an unbeatable price and free shipping. There is only one dealer in Vermont, but just across the border to the north in Canada there are four. Up there the Zetors are popular with the loggers, who appreciate the rugged drivelines and tough, well-protected cabs.

Nice!
I ran a parts department at a new Holland dealership for quite a few years. I had quite a few customers in the area with older zetors because there used to be a zetor dealer there.
I had no idea they met tier 4 without a computer! That's so rad.
