Spot prawns are in! They were still wriggling when the guy at the market was scooping them up. Gonna sauté those to go with a tenderloin and some asparagus...I’ll make a chicken for Mrs CDD who’s “off beef”....how one can be off beef is is beyond me:)

I bought some steak today for Father’s Day and some of it was $30 a pound! I think the steaks I bought were like $18 a pound.

We have AA ribeye for C$ 7.77 /lb this weekend at one store. I’m down to my last half piece of ribeye, should think about restocking soon.

Went out to a fantastic Indian restaurant for the first time since before the lockdown, delicious and it cleared my sinuses right out.

Looks good. We had pizza tonight. I’m not sure what the meal plan will be tomorrow. I’ve left it up to the family.

I buy the little Chuck Eye steaks at Wally World. About a half-pound apiece and plenty for me. A little salt and Ms. Dash to spice ‘em up. D rop them onto hot Sesame oil in the pan. Boil some red skin taters early and fry them halved with the steak. Slice some shrooms and add when the meat is turned. Split and chop a couple spring onions into the pan. When the meat and taters are plated, I scrape the shrooms and onions to the edge and pour in some sesame oil or bacon fat. Then dump in a mess of spinach. Work that mess around until the spinach is almost gooey and plate it. There ya go, cheap, easy 1 pan, 8-minute steak dinner! If I could post pics to Kinja, I’d use my Android phn and do so....

Also, I’ve discovered that Deep Eddy lemon vodka and Diet Squirt together is AMAZING.

I usually stick to my tried and true reverse sear, 225F in my oven till it hits around 90F, then sear in my cast iron , baste in butter or tallow till the crust is crispy and overall medium rare.
