The flying Jeep has TWO wankels? That's a future I want to see. Oh wait, I already have but in that future I'm looking at Isuzu Ascenders and Oldsmobile Silhouettes all day.

I believe it’s powered by these: https://www.renntechmercedes.com/index.php/products/powersports/aixro-xr-50-rotary-karting-engine-w-standard-idm-magneto-ignition-791-detail  (I want to swap these into everything small)

Imagine one stuffed into a Smart Fortwo! I want to swap those into everything large as well.

There are a few different companies making small, powerful rotaries like this. Here are some 58-100 hp Rotaries for UAVs: https://www.nwuav.com/engines-rotron.html

Rotron is just a good name. I still wonder how the rotary would be today if it had been developed alongside piston engines this whole time.

I found one even better. There’s a company called Wankel Supertec that makes a variety of interesting compact rotary engines with modular designs. They are mainly intended for industrial applications, but the website says they can also be used for “mobile applications” such as vehicles, so you could put one in a car if you wanted. And I do want to put one in a car, because one of their engines is a four-rotor 268-hp DIESEL rotary! I have to imagine that would be a hoot in an RX-7.

They also seem to have one with 402 hp... Th is company is Wankel nirvana!

So is it like like a constant RPM generator? Wow, a diesel rotary sounds amazing. And probably untested waters.

I have a complete front and rear miata suspension (crossmembers, control arms, steering rack, etc.) that I’d love to put a jeep tub on.  Make a low boy wrangler autocross machine.

Technically, the only postwar phaeton, at least for awhile.

A modern-day autocross Jeepster would be fantastic! There are so many fun things you could do with front and rear Miata subframes...

I just need to find a jeep with good paperwork and a decent tub.
