As a former owner of a 78 280Z, I believe that second color is ‘Rust’. It came standard on most cars, especially those delivered in the North East. They just painted over it with other colors, which quickly wore off.

That car got too light and couldn’t handle the speed anymore, or reached it’s aerodynamic threshold.

I’m pretty sure he finished the series still driving it. It ended the series as one of the fastest, and IIRC in the real life Mid Nite Club, it was definitely one of the fastest.

He lost his nerve in the last run against the Z. It was clearly the fastest you just needed to take the risk of holding the pedal to the floor.

TBAL on Oppo still has arguably the best article about the real life version of these cars and the real blackbird having ayrton senna's turbocharger on it still boggles my mind. That car must be an absolute mongrel at high speeds when the turbo kicks up...
