When I go to Full of the sound of the Gran Fury, signifying nothing’s post, the side bar suggests posts from Davesaddiction and ranwhenparked.
The selection changes as I visit other posts.
Some select from Oppo posts, ot hers from other Kinja assets.
So, what’s driving the algorithm?

Kinja’s been dead behind the wheel for a loooong time now...

I noticed that. I liked it when the side bar showed that person’s recent posts. The side bar was entirely gone for quite a while and now it just seems random, including the other blogs stuff. The Oppo recent page side bar already was made of black magic but this is just absurd.
It makes so much more sense to see an author’s other posts than random crap. At least that small ad went away a month ago.

Noticed that too. Hopefully the ads and the crappy load times won’t be next.

Now I’m getting the “More from G/O Media” side bar below the “You May Also Like” box.
The ads have a nasty habit of taking way too much memory and CPU resources and often cause Chrome to crash on my system. If that invades this space, it may be the end of Oppo for me.

I think this sums it up...

Yikes. I just don’t understand how they can make a few lines of text strain a system so much.

And crashes. Don’t forget the crashes.

Stop giving them ideas.

It’s not text. There are certain ads which overload and crash Chrome. It happens on my PC, my iPad, and my iPhone.
