Kinja'd!!!

I got a yard of mulch from the materials yard.

Kinja'd!!!

I took off the rotted out step tubes. The middle mounts on both side fought me enough that I just sawzalled them off. This resulted in me getting literally showered in iron oxide, which sucked.

Kinja'd!!!

Soon the truck w ill be getting its rockers replaced. Since I haul my kids in this thing, I want all the metal back.

I started work on replacing the ball joints in my Mazda last night and to get them loose required a good deal of whacking with a hammer and the amount of rust that ended up on the ground under the suspension was staggering...

The fact that we salt our roads blows seriously...

Mazdas don’t like rust, but rust really really like mazdas

Yeah - my B2600i is in way better shape than most as they all ended up in the scrap yard years ago for rust but it’s not good. It’s solid but only has a few years left before it’s useless due to rust.

Its a great set! I actually inherited it from my grandparents. This stuff is about as old as I am, give or take a few years.

I believe it. Honestly that picture doesn’t do justice to how much rust hit the ground. I had to blow it away with a leaf blower. Several times.

Yeah I want to say mine probably hails from  the ’90s. I’m sure it will outlive my truck lol.

It is awful - I can’t go under a vehicle without safety glasses!

Same here. It’s bad. Not time to junk the truck bad, but bad. The rockers have basically disintegrated.

Speaking of rust, yesterday I saw a 05ish Honda Civic get T boned, the thing was rusted all down both sides. When it got his it released a cloud of rust. Like POOF!

Crazy thing was the car drove off. They had ran a stop sign and got hit.

Yipes!

That’s exactly the sort of reason I’m going to spend the money getting my rockers redone.

Great reason to buy a Jaguar Land Rover product, the uni-bodies are made of aluminum! No rust to worry about. Rent a trailer and fill it with dirt and tow it.
