It’s like they ran out of dye for the seats. That’s an unusual cut-off...

Damn, my 2001 Clio 2 Extrê me was having a similar interior style but “reversed” (mine had the steering wheel at the right place but the same interior) :
The “outside” part was in velours (not sure its the right term but it was great) !

I think those wacky seat patterns were the standard ‘90s method of attempting to distract drivers from the fact that they bought a flimsy penalty box - sort of how a decade later, all econoboxes started being painted in bright neon colors. See - this Mirage is lime green, that means it isn’t crap, its fun!

I had a Lanos S hatchback up until 2003. Mine did have the confetti seats, but they didn’t have that weird cutoff. IIRC Daewoo stopped using that pattern a year or two later. I wish I had pictures of that car.
Strike that, I don’t want any
pictures of that thing
. The NB Miata I replaced it with was a better car in every way.

High school me liked the look and affordability of the 3-door Lanos hatchback:
Fortunately, I didn’t have the money to make that sort of bad decision.

Wait a minute, that’s what I’ve been puzzling over for the past week! There is a Lanos 3 door in this lot I always pass often and I had no idea what it was without stopping.
