Did you know that later FIAT 126p FL/EL/ELX models had control stalks which were hollow behind?

I’m assuming it was to save on material costs, but I could be wrong? :P

These control stalks are identical to the ones used on my Zetor Major 80 tractor. Wiper stalk on the right... One difference though is that pulling the lights stalk is the horn, rather than passing flash.

It actually makes the moulding as strong as possible whilst also being cheap to make (both in terms of the product, the material it is made from and the tooling used to mould  it).

Believe me, if I could’ve by now, I would! I have the money saved, but no income because no teaching right now means no FIAT....I’ve been saving up to get my own house, which I have a lot saved for, but COVID has put a damper on looking for one :(

That being said, out neighbours across the street (I still live at home right now) are selling their house soon and it would be PERFECT....near mom as she ages (she’s in her early 7os now), relatively recently renovated inside, new siding....most importantly, a few-year old garage(!!!)....would be great! I worry how much they’ll be asking for it, but if I can swing it, I would try and get it, then 126 ahoy!

I have a bad feeling it will be out of my price range, especially with the lack of income right now....but I do have a fair amount saved up, and we’ll see!
