The jag’s hood had a few concerning cracks around one of the holes where the hinge mounts, which I believe to be the main issue why I can’t get a proper hood fitment.

So after some very careful welding and maybe a bit more grinding than necessary I ended up with this, Not perfect but nobody going to see it and if grinded too much more I probably would of ended up compromising the weld.

man, how does that even happen?  vibration from the hood itself causing metal fatigue?

Not too sure myself, but the car was hit somewhere in the driver side fender area in one of the past ownerships and that may have done it.
