The accessorizing has continued with a top-tube bag and a set of front and rear “please don’t hit me lights.” This also makes night riding to and from breweries an option when they open back up.

I’m also looking forward to a place to stash a few things on the bike, since the spandex rules out much on-body storage for longer rides. I’ve learned that despite feeling a bit like wearing a diaper, bike shorts are awesome. My ass appreciates the padding. Amazon also sent me a stand.

After two primarily dirt ditch rides the last couple of evenings, the bike was ready for a light Svending and a chain clean+lube.

Nothing fancy was used here.

My Salsa is filthy right now after the creek flooded on Wednesday. I don’t think I could deal with a white bike.

Actually, like a white car it hides dust pretty well. The black residue from cleaning the chain and gearset, not so much...

If you can bolt on a swat box those can hold a tube, patch kit, tire levers. Otherwise they make these cool frame packs that attach to the top tube near the stem.

Im a fan of the wd40 bike products. Plus, bibs over shorts really are the way to go when you start hitting good distances. Keep going!

Cycling shorts are awesome, even if they make you look like you’re wearing a diaper.

I’d recommend an inexpensive set of clips and straps. Once you get used to them, they do a great job of keeping your foot in the right place. They’re a lot cheaper than cycling shoes and clip less pedals and they’ll do the job.
