the federal govt is auctioning this in California on GSA auctions. 2009 dualie rear wheel drive fire crew carrier with 109k and the auction is at $5k.
#vanlife is not quite adequate for this beast.

That is awesome...but how did you not also post this thing?

Oh. Yes. That will work. I would turn it into a rolling bar (if I could find a place that would allow it!) Like a food truck, but a bar instead!

I keep getting Instagram suggestions of ambulance camper conversions and I have IDEAS for this thing.

No stealth camping with this, that’s for sure.

Buy a cup of ice, get a free shot of booze! Just gotta know how to market it right to avoid the law man.

Thank you. I sent that to my wife’s cousin. She is, or at least was, all a bout that #vanlife, s o I’ve been doing my part in trying to talk her into a ridiculous vehicle purchase.
At one point I had her pretty close to an M1078, but she got cold feet.

Looks like maybe some sort of older Toyota LiteAce-based Chinese knockoff? Kinda cool!

This. Haha.

That’s more bus than van, at least I’d assume so since it carries an entire fire crew.

The more I think about it, the more I like the rolling bar concept. Its like the ice cream man, but for adults. Also cuts down on DUI. Its a win for everyone!

I’ve said this for years. At fire truck events, there are a few around who have bars on their trucks. They don’t sell it. But it’s a hell of a concept that would, I believe, take off!

I think if someone did this they’d make a killing in my neighborhood. There are a lot of young to middle age couples, we’re all social, like to drink. You could clean up on Friday-Saturday nights. And were not alone, I live in a dense suburban area.
What Im envisioning is a truck like that, have a nice PA system, some patio tables and chairs, and like an awning or like a pergola structuture you could erect with lights strung from it. The trick is you cant hit the same neighborhood every night, so set up a rotation schedule, pick like 8 different neighborhoods and rotate through them on Friday and Saturday nights. Pull into the cul-de-sac, set up, everyone comes out and drinks, you rake in cash, then about 10 PM pack up and go home.

So, want to find a way to get it approved and make this happen? I feel like there is a definite market for this!

I was discussing this with my wife yesterday. Not sure how to get it approved, but I agree that theres got to be a market for this.
