Made some scones.
(And I don’t actually mean it, my last bike ride was 45 miles so I have no room to talk)

I love scones. I have a loaf of chocolate chip banana bread in the bread machine right now.

Nice!
I just finished a slice of homemade banana bread, warmed with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Hah. As long as you respect us slow runners. Went out for my neighborhood loop for the first time in 2.5 months and it hurt, but at least there’s nothing to train for.

You guys and your banana bread!

I’m so slow, it’s awful. God I wish I was 35 again. I was fucking buff as shit.

I’ve just bought some salted caramel scones and some Cornish clotted cream.
You know what they say, great minds think alike, fools seldom differ. Lol.

I wish I had some baking skills....alas,
my best food invention so far was in university when I had nothing left in my cupboard but some Shreddies and a jar of peanut butter. Surprisingly, Shreddies with a dab of peanut butter on each one is a surprisingly tasty snack!

That looks mighty tasty. I got desperate for sweets over the weekend and made a batch of chocolate chip cookies. They were eaten before I could take a picture.

Salted caramel sounds amazing.

I used to bake all the time. Then I moved to CO and nothing worked right with the altitude and apparently it took a plague for me to figured it out again. I can’t cook other food though.

They taste pretty amazing! I get pretty anxious with recipes that say “careful not to over(whatever) the dough...” so it’s always a pleasant surprise when they turn out.

I don't know when salted caramel kicked off, but anything caramel, has a salted caramel version now too. It's very sweet.

So, is that a big loaf that you cut into sections?

Directions said to make an 8-inch patty with the dough and cut it into eighths. Leave them “together” for higher rise and softer sides or pull them apart to separate.
Since they were already stuck to the parchment and there’s no way to flour a metal knife I went with the first option. Seemed to work ok?

Kudos for having cooking skills! :P

I like that idea. I guess it depends on whether you want the softer sides or more crust.
I’ve switched from parchment to the non-stick aluminum foil. Have you tried it? It’s great . Only problem is, you can’t put it in the recycling bin.

I only just started using parchment! My old seasoned baking sheets finally got rusty. Maybe I’ll give the aluminum a try next time.
